To conclude the prestigious WIE Impact Series 2025, the Women in Engineering (WIE) IEEE Indonesia Section hosted the “WIE Research Symposium & Gathering” on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Held at the Fasilkom UI Building in Depok, the event served as a culminating platform to celebrate research excellence, facilitate ideation, and strengthen professional networks within the Indonesian academic community.

The symposium commenced with distinguished opening remarks from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kurnianingsih (Chair of IEEE Indonesia Section) and Prof. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, PhD (WIE Indonesia Advisory Board). Both leaders emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and the vital role of women in steering the future of impactful research.

The highlight of the session was a Keynote Speech by Dr.Eng. Ir. Sunu Wibirama, S.T., M.Eng from Universitas Gadjah Mada. His presentation further explored the technical and soft skills necessary for researchers to elevate their capacity and ensure their work resonates on a global scale.

Following the keynote, the event transitioned into an Ideation Presentation session, where participants of the WIE Impact Series showcased their innovative research concepts. This session provided a unique opportunity for peer review and constructive feedback from experts. The day continued with a formal Appreciation Ceremony to honor the speakers and participants who contributed to the success of the 2025 series.

The event concluded with a Gathering and Networking session, allowing researchers from various institutions to exchange ideas in a more informal setting. By fostering these connections, the WIE IEEE Indonesia Section continues to build a robust ecosystem for scientific advancement and inclusive innovation in Indonesia.
