Elevating Research Capacity: WIE Impact Series 2025 Hosts Intensive Technical Workshop
Workshop Organized by: Women in Engineering (WIE) IEEE Indonesia Section, in collaboration with the British Council.
Following the success of its initial session, the Women in Engineering (WIE) IEEE Indonesia Section continued its commitment to academic excellence through the second event of the WIE Impact Series 2025. The “Research Workshop: Elevate Research Capacity for Impactful Research” was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 11–12, 2025, providing an intensive two-day deep dive into both technical skills and leadership development.
The event opened with a powerful Keynote session themed “Women and Impactful Research,” featuring Uti Nilam Sari MD. MSc (Founder & CEO of Medimedi) and Dr. Dewi Y. Liliana (Politeknik Negeri Jakarta). Both speakers highlighted the unique role of women in driving research that addresses real-world challenges and creates a lasting social footprint.
The Technical Research Workshop segment offered a comprehensive roadmap for the research lifecycle:
- Dr. Karlisa Priandana (IPB University) shared expert insights on “Research Planning and Methodology,” emphasizing the importance of a solid foundation for any scientific inquiry.
- Dr. Ir. Melinda, ST, M.Sc (Syiah Kuala University) provided strategic guidance on crafting a “Robust Research Proposal for Funding,” a crucial skill for sustaining long-term projects.
- Dr. Ir. Dini Fronitasari, ST., MT (BRIN) discussed the bridge between academia and industry in her session “Collaboration for Impactful Research and Commercialization.”
- Allya Paramita Koesoema, PhD (ITB) explored the future of technology with her presentation on “Leveraging Research with Responsible AI,” addressing the ethical integration of artificial intelligence in modern studies.
Recognizing that technical prowess must be paired with leadership, the workshop concluded with a Soft Skill Development session. Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, PhD (BINUS University) delivered a motivating talk on “Mindset, Resilience, and Strategy to Lead Impactful Movement,” empowering participants to lead their research teams with confidence and vision.
Moderated with enthusiasm and professional clarity, the two-day workshop served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange. By bridging technical expertise with essential soft skills, the WIE IEEE Indonesia Section continues to foster a generation of visionary researchers capable of driving impactful innovations for society.
